Every woman knows how uncomfortable the wrong bra can be – that is exactly why we have people like Christina Faraj who are on a life mission to solve this problem! This month's Hudson Valley Business of the month is The Bra Fit Expert – Check it out

Clearly your business has a unique market – How long have you been in the industry and when did you start Bra Fit?

5 years as The Bra Fit Expert, nearly 20 in the Lingerie Industry, Starting with Nordstrom In Seattle and Westchester then a boutique in NYC.

As the "Bra Fit" expert, what would you consider to be your core service that offer to customers?

The core service I provide is expert bra fitting and styling (best style for your shape/size), I sell mid-high price bras as well as panties, and some loungewear/sleepwear pieces.

Ah, yes! As a woman I can feel the pain, or discomfort, of  those cheap department store brands. For a while I didn't eve realize there was a better alternative. What makes your brand so attractive compared to other high end retail stores?

It is my experience with both the product and customer service. I have always been a “people person” and connect well with people, I enjoy learning about peoples stories and experiences, as well as sharing my own.

On that same note, what is the most important aspect of being in the shop on a daily basis?

Building strong customer relationships.

We've all absorbed advice from mentors and others who have been in our shoes... What's the best business advice you've ever received?

I’ve received so much! One of the best was from Karen Donahue, owner of Echo boutique (my current home). I was talking to her about expanding my product offering, and she said stick to bras, you are The Bra Fit Expert! Also another friends quote “no risk, no reward”.

Agreed! You have to be comfortable with putting yourself in an uncomfortable position! What’s been the biggest challenge your business has faced?

Picking the best products within a certain buying budget, on a personal level as a mother of 2 small children ( 2 and 4) trying to fit in time to focus on business while raising my children.

I'm in the same boat! Balancing time with the family and investment in the business can be tough. What's one piece of advice you have for entrepreneurs like yourself?

Make sure you love, enjoy and have passion for what you do – don’t just pick something because you think it would be cool to start a business. It is still a great feeling to change some ones day (and possibly year!) by fitting them in a proper fitting bra, it truly changes so much, the way your clothes fit, your posture and most of all your self confidence!

How Can We Help?
